Andrew P. Abela, DDS, MSc, ABOMS, FRCD

Meet Dr. Abela

Dr. Abela graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Sc. in physiology, and subsequently completed a masters degree in pharmacology at McMaster University in Hamilton. He returned to the University of Toronto where at the Faculty of Dentistry he obtained his D.D.S. Andrew then moved to New York where he completed a one-year general practice residency in dentistry at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. His four year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery was completed at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.

Dr. Abela went on to pursue his interest in dentofacial deformities by completing a one year fellowship in orthognathic surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. He stayed in Seattle and served as the Interim Program Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University of Washington Medical Center.

Dr. Abela is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Abela has been in private practice in Massachusetts since 2000.
